Dear Bowie Family,
My name is Roxanne, your mother was a good friend and neighbor of mine many years ago. I would see her once in a while and catch up with what was new. She was so proud of her children. I have only met Maria but your Mom filled me in on her sons. Your Mom was always fun to be around and was always willing to help anyone in need.
I was very shocked to read the news of her passing. I'm so sorry that you all have lost your Mother.
I was searching today's paper and noticed I could look up past obituaries and found hers. I'm so pleased to be able to leave a message for you all. I tried to call your grandfather, Larry, but couldn't find his number. Please tell him I send all my love to him. I thank your Mom for all the good memories and laughs we had. My deepest sympathy goes out to each of you! Roxanne

Marjie was one of my dear and elder cousins. I will always have fond memories of Marjie from when I was real little. She took care of me a lot, took me everywhere, did so much with and for me and there was never a dull moment. I remember her as a beautiful, hip, and popular late 70’s/early 80's teen with long natural black hair, hippy dresses, clogs, and tunes from the Styx, Eagles, Terry Jacks etc... always in the background.
One particular time, my mother had just come to pick me up after I had spent quite a few days with Marjie and take me back home. I could not for the life of me decide whether I felt like I wanted to stay with Marjie or go home with my Mother. I cried so hard when I had to make a choice and that’s how I remember the way I felt about Marjie. She was like an older sister / 2nd “Mommy” when I was little which is an awful lot of impact to make as a cousin. I will always love and remember her for that time in my life.
I’m so horribly saddened for and want to express my deepest sympathies to Maria, Uncle Larry, Kim, Little Larry, Jimmy Joe, and Stevie for their loss of their mother, daughter, sister and sister in law for all of the pain around that loss. They were also an important and meaningful part of my childhood along with Marjie’s predeceased and ever beloved mother, my Aunt Ruthie; all of whom I still love dearly. I also extend my deepest condolences to my little cousins Joey and Brandon for losing their Mom and Cameron for losing his grandma at such an untimely age. I send my love and healing energy from the west coast.

Maria,
I don't know if you remember me; but I am your grandmother, Ruthie's cousin. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I remember when she was a brand new baby; she was so beautiful and your grandmother and grandfather were so very proud of her. I know that times have been very difficult but try to find some good memories in your heart and be comforted. Tell your grandfather that I am so very sorry.
