Jim,

Never in my life had I witnessed such sorrow, pain, and grief as I have in your eyes the past weeks. You are the strongest person I know. My heart is forever with you. You have taught me what it means to be a good parent.... patience and unconditional love. Thank you for that. Thank you to Matthew Howe for giving your father the most beautiful gift you ever could, 17 years of loving you. And thank you for teaching me what it means to truely care for someone and for giving me hope that there is more after this. May you continue in peace. You will be sincerely missed.

I was blessed to be able to spend some time with Jim and Matthew in the summer of 1998. It was at this time that I was able to see just how deeply Jim loved his son. His son was his first priority and the love of his life! I was also able to see how much Matt loved his dad. His dad was his hero! We have lost touch since that summer but I know that the bond betweeen Jim and his son must have just gotten stronger and stronger over the years. How tragic life can be sometimes. My heart goes out to Jim and his family for their loss. May God bless you and heal your broken hearts. Time heals all wounds.

Dear Jim, Dawn, Ned, Edie and family,

Matthew was a pure delight when he was at my daycare many years ago and I truly enjoyed having him there. Over the years I've thought about him often and wondered how all of you were doing. I am so sorry that you have to be going through this now. I pray that God surrounds you and helps you through this most difficult time. Thank you so much for letting me know him and your family.
