Nancy L. Gulliver, 95
CAPE ELIZABETH - Nancy L. Gulliver, 95, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, died on Friday Sept. 4, 2015 at Falmouth by the Sea.
Nancy was born on April 22, 1920 in Arlington, Mass., the daughter of the late Arthur Sr. and Ella Grannan Lane. She graduated from Kenwood Academy in New York and received her Bachelor's Degree in Science from Manhattanville College in New York.
In 1945 she married Richard J. Gulliver. She worked as a chemist for several years before moving to Cape Elizabeth in 1959 where her full time job became raising her family.
Nancy was an avid Bridge player, she loved entertaining family and friends in her home and loved to travel and was always willing and ready if someone wanted to go. She was a member of the Stock Club and was a longtime volunteer at Mercy Hospital. Nancy was a lifelong communicant of the Catholic Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Falmouth by the Sea for the wonderful care given to their mother during her stay there.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband Richard J. Gulliver in 1997 and a brother Arthur Lane Jr. She is survived by her son Bruce and his wife Terri Gulliver of South Portland, two daughters Joan and her husband Charles Simonds of South Carolina and Susan Swasey of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren Kevin Gulliver of Portland, Travis Gulliver of South Portland, Sam Swasey of New York, Taylor Swasey of New York, Ben Simonds of Illinois, Matthew Simonds of Georgia and Alexandra Berry of Wisconsin; seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth. Arrangements are under the direction of

As a summer visiting cousin in the Portland Maine area I enjoyed my cousins from South Boston. My mother was Ruth Gulliver Sullivan, my 2 aunts were Frances Gulliver Jordan and Margaret Gulliver Harrigan. My uncle was Alan Gulliver.

They broke the mold w/ Nancy G there was only one will miss her greatly . She was a fantastic friend to all ,always willing to go the extra yard to help those in need ........Robert Flaherty !!

Dear Joan, I am sorry for your loss. Your Mom has gone now to the PEACEABLE. KINGDOM, and will forever be right next to GOD. I have remembered you often from our 1960 to 64 days at CEHS .
