MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY.
RENE(SCRAM) WAS A DEAR FRIEND, WE ATTENDED ST'ANDRES TOGETHER IN THE SAME CLASS, ANGEL'S, WE WERE NOT.
I REMEMBER HE AND I WORKING AFTER CLASS FOR THE SEXTON (ANDRE COTE)
SWEEPING, DUSTING ETC. ON FRIDAY WE WERE PAID THE SUM OF .25 CTS.A WHOLE QUARTER WHICH WE GAVE TO OUR PARENTS.
RENE WAS THERE TO DEFEND ME IN CASE SOMEONE WANTED TO FIGHT ME.
BELIEVE ME HE WAS GENTLE, BUT HE COMANDED RESPECT, AND GOT IT,AS THEY FEARED HIM.
MR. LAMBERT HAD A RIG ON HIS TRUCK TO SAW WOOD FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD, THIS IS HOW WE HEATED OUR HOMES IN THE 30'S.
RENE AND HIS BROTHERS ALL WORKED HELPING THEIR FATHER WITH THE WOOD CUTTING.WE BOTH HELPED DELIVER GROCERIES FOR CAOUETTE'S SUPER MARKET AT THE FOOT OF WATER AND CLIFFORD STS.
HERE IS WHAT I HEARD FROM DAN CAOUETTE
WHOM WE HELPED WITH DELIVERIES, AND HOE SCRAM GOT HIS MONIKER, HE DRANK SOME OF THE 1/4 BOTTLES OF CREAM FROM THE BACK OF THE TRUCK WHILE DAN WAS IN A CUTOMERS HOUSE TAKING AN ORDER
DAN SAID IN FRENCH " TU A BU LA CREME, ALLORS, SCRAM" RENE MIGHT HAVE BEEN ABOUT 10 TO 12 YRS OLD AT THE TIME.
POSSIBLE THAT THIS IS HOW HE GOT THE NAME? BELIEVE ME YOUR DAD WAS HONEST, CAPABLE, WOKED HARD ALL HIS LIFE.
WE LIVED ON HIGH ST. NO 65 AND THE LAMBERT'S WERE AT EITHER 79 OR 81 HIGH.
AGAIN, MY SYPATHYS TO THE FAMILY.
