Richard M. Kahn, 91
SOUTH PORTLAND - Richard M. Kahn, 91, died peacefully with his family at his side on Sept. 13, 2018. Richard was born in Worcester, Mass. on August 12, 1927. He was a long time resident of Worcester, living there for over 70 years before moving to Maine.
He was the son of Goldie Hurwitz Kahn and Louis Kahn. He graduated from Cushing Academy and attended Syracuse University. He served in the US Army at the end of World War II and returned to Worcester to begin a long career primarily in retail women's wear. In 1952 he married Lois Bielfeld. They raised their four children in Worcester. His passion was his family. He enjoyed sailing, tennis and skiing. He was a lifelong sports fan cheering for all the Boston and local teams. After retirement, he and Lois enjoyed travel and visiting friends and family and most importantly seeing their children, grandchildren and great-grandson as they grew and matured.
His parents and siblings, Jordan and Leslie Kahn, predeceased him. He is survived by Lois Kahn, his wife of 66 years; children Jeffrey Kahn and wife Nancy, Debbie Kahn Meagher and husband Jim, Howard Kahn and wife AnnMarie, Bruce Kahn; grandchildren Jennifer (Meagher) and Josh Loring, Haley Kahn, Danielle Kahn, Brandon Meagher, Olivia Kahn, Alison Kahn; and great-grandson Grady Loring.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m.. Friday Sept. 14 at Temple Emanuel Sinai Worcester Massachusetts. A Memorial Observance will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday Sept. 16 at 1 Hunts Point Rd. Cape Elizabeth, with a service at 3 p.m.
