PORTLAND - Robert R. Bob Anderson, 77, of Portland died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a courageous battle with kidney disease.
He was born Nov., 24, 1928 in Boston, Mass., a son of Daniel W. and Helene B. (Comeau) Anderson. He was educated in Boston schools.
As a young man he repaired watches in a Boston jewelry store. Mr. Anderson then moved to Portland.      He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church of Portland.
Bob enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble with his family and reading. He also liked to play cards and watch trivia game shows and was an avid sports fan. He was very well self-educated in political matters, geography and history.
When his children were young, he took them on a summer vacation drive across the country from Maine to Chico, Calif., to visit his Aunt and see Carlsbad Caverns, the Grand Canyon and Disneyland.
He was predeceased by his parents Daniel W. and Helene B. Anderson, and a stepfather Joseph Martin all of Dorchester Mass., and a sister Jacqueline Keene of Woburn, Mass.
