Robert Micucci Obituary

Robert H. Micucci, 71
SOUTH PORTLAND -- Robert H. Micucci, 71, of South Portland, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, after a hardfought battle with cancer.

For 38 years, Bob was employed by Lawson Products, Inc. of Illinois, where he served as Sales Manager. His job was more than a job because of the many friendships he established with customers throughout the state of Maine. He often started his days with breakfast at Espan's in Portland.

Surviving is his wife, Judith Woodbury Micucci; three sons, Kenneth T. Micucci and his wife Beth, Travis J. Micucci and his wife Abbie, and Robert H. Micucci Jr. and his fiancŽe Gale; three sisters, Mary Fappiano, Helen Wheeler and her husband Ray, and Lillian Fortier; four brothers, Angelo Micucci and his wife Evelyn, Tony Micucci and his wife Lorraine, Joe Micucci and his wife Jean, and Larry Micucci and his wife June; two sisters-in-law, Dottie Micucci and Susie Micucci; four grandchildren, Sarah, Mia, Enzo, and Marco; as well as many nieces and nephews.

I knew Bob as a student and athlete of mine, and later as a friend. I was saddened to hear that he will no longer be with us. I am thankful that I got the chance to talk with him on the phone during his 50th class reunion. Bob was a great competitor on our 1956 undefeated state championship basketball team. I will forever remember his intense desire in competition. My sincere condolences to the Micucci family. May he rest in peace.

Classmate
Whether you were a he or a she
Classmates knew Robert Micucci.
He was truly a great athlete
Who helped keep our teams from defeat.
But much more then that he made you feel
That it was not him who was the big deal.
This kindness made him such a good friend
Everyone thought he would never end.
But God called him home to be with Him
Which gives a chance to sing this hymn.
The Bobby we all knew way back then
Will stay in our hearts till we meet again.

To Bob's Family,

I got to know Bob when I started working at the Lawson NJ Branch in 1974. No matter what my position was, Bob always treated me with respect and kindness. He was great to all of us here and those of us who were lucky enough to know him well will certainly miss him very much.

All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
