April 28, 2011

I received the news of the death of Bob from my friend on New Salt Karen Smith Regan, and it brought back fond memories of Bob and Rhoda. All of us in the "deep browning" days. I remember him too, in his garden, so proud of his accomplishments.

Good memories to add to those when I too lived in Ocean Park. I shall make a rememberance donation to the Ocean Park Association, as suggested. I extend my sympathies,to his family, sympathies supported by my warm and fond memories.

Dear Jim, Sue, Bill, Pia and Paul,
Our most sincere condolences on the passing of Bob. I have very fond memories of Bob holding court on the beach from the mid-late 1960's to the 1980's. He was not only the mayor of New Salt, but also the mayor of Ocean Park. I remember his joking ways and his famous comments "who gave you permission to come down to the beach???". But I will always remember Bob (and Rhoda) for being so kind to my mom after my dad died. It was truly an honor to have known Bob. He will surely be missed by many.

Many fun memories sitting on the porch in OP with the family, laughing and singing and playing trivial pursuit. My favorite uncle! We will miss him.

The summer on New Salt Road will not be the same without the "beach boss"...we will all miss you Bob; your wisecracks, scarcasm and your heart of gold. Rest in peace.
