PORTLAND - Virginia Eileen Souviney, 90, of Portland, died Friday June 27, 2014, at Freeport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Virginia was born Jan 1, 1924 in Rockland a daughter of Kenneth V. and Evelyn Marie Crouse White. She was a graduate St. George High School in 1942.
Virginia married William A. Souviney at St. Dominic's Church in 1973. He predeceased her in 1991.
She worked for several years as a manager at General Electric and later was a switchboard operator at the Osteopathic Hospital.
Virginia loved animals and had many pets throughout her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include her daughter Leslie Wilhelmsen and husband Finn of Portland; and a grandson Derek Wilhelmsen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Freeport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the volunteers from Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Virginia.
A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday July 1, 2014 at Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland. Arrangements are by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.ctcrawford.com.
