Leslie and family: News of Walter's passing was a sad occasion for me. Although our paths did not cross frequently in recent years, he was very helpful to me as a young commercial lawyer just starting out and has been since. I am very sorry for your loss.

Leslie and family -

Frank and I were so saddened to read of Walter's passing. We last saw him at Franklin Howe's Masonic service in Bath and it was wonderful to catch up with him after not seeing him for so many years.

Walter joined Casco Lodge when David Hansen (my first husband) was Master and Dave thought the world of him. After Dave died (in 1978), we lost touch with both of you.

Recently, when Jennifer married (remember Jennifer and Libby were born just a few days apart and you and I were at Maine Med together delivering them) we had a DVD done of clips of Jenni when she was a baby for a present for her bridal shower. In that DVD is a clip of Walter holding Libby and Dave holding Jenni that I'd like to get to you some day. Please send me your address so I can get a copy to you. It was taken at the Yarmouth Clam Festival and would have been in 1976.

After Dave's death, I married another very active Mason, Frank Donnell. He is Past Master of Solar Lodge (twice) and, though he doesn't attend anymore due to hearing loss, the Masons is still near and dear to his heart.

I am so glad we were able to congratulate Walter on his appointment. We are only sorry we didn't get to see you, Leslie, before you moved to Mass.

Our deepest sympathy and love to you and your family.

Leslie, David, Seth, Liz, Shiela and Russ,

I am so so sorry to hear about Walter. He was a wonderful man and I looked up to you both as wonderful parents, as I watched over David and Seth for you and I will always remember you inviting me to Liz's baptism party as a friend, not the babysitter. Leading our Youth group at First Parish Congregational Church was another of Walter's kind acts. You have all been on my mind since I heard from you in December. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May he be at Peace and the wonderful memories you have comfort you at this time. I am sorry I am not able to be at his service, but please know I will be there in spirit. With love to you all.
