Alexia Baird Obituary

Alexia Baird (nee Muttart) of East Brandywine, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 12, 2010 after succumbing to cancer diagnosed only six weeks earlier. She is survived by her brother, Steven L. Mutart and his family and many close friends. She was surrounded by their love in her final days. Growing up in Wayne, Alex graduated from Radnor High School, Class of 1964, and Pierce Business College. After several years of secretarial and office work, she developed her own landscaping/gardening business with many customers including People's Light and Theatre Company. Her love of flowers and nature was inspired by her mother, Frances Shull Muttart Robertson, who had passed away recently at age 99, after sharing Alex's home for many years. Alex loved her home in the country with her cats, chickens, flowers and friends. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no memorial service. Her ashes will be scattered on her beloved land. Family and friends will remember her and celebrate her life in their own personal way.

Steven,

I was so sorry to see that Alexia had died. I was doing a search for Muttarts just to check on the Neenah, Wisconsin, deaths when I came across it. My sincere sympathies. I wish we could have met.

My heartfelt sympathy to Steven and all of Alex's friends. She was one of life's shining stars, a unique and genuine soul. I will treasure her friendship always. Wayne joins me in sending our condolences - they were friends since pre-school.
