Ed Buck Obituary

Ed Buck age 80, of Wayne, PA, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed away on March 17, 2013 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. Born in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late George W. and Leona Buck (nee Lawson). Ed received his B.A. degree from Lynchburg College in 1957 with a triple major in English, History and Creative Writing. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Germany which led him to his love of travel. Ed grew up on the streets of NY City, which in many ways laid the foundation for the man he had become, a proud self made, hard working husband and dad. Ed retired in 1994 from Wyeth-Ayerst International where he was the marketing director. He was a member of the Lincoln Highway Association. He was fascinated with the history of the Lincoln Highway, and traveled the entire route from Times Square to Lincoln Park, San Francisco using a 1927 map to route out his trip. His favorite pastimes included golf, writing, history and traveling. Ed also enjoyed volunteering at Broomall Presbyterian Village where he would listen and learn from the life stories of the residents. Ed is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Main), with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, his children Edward Buck (Janice), Cathy Thompson (Robert) and Elizabeth Limper (Henry), 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service, Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory to the Wayne Presbyterian Church at the above address would be appreciated. Arrangements The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600. Online condolences www.donohuefuneralhome.com
