Francis Linsalata Obituary

Francis A. Linsalata Linsalata passed away the evening of June 24, 2012. The son of Italian immigrants Nicola and Leonarda Linsalata, and last of nine children, Francis (Frank) was born in South Philadelphia on October 17, 1927. After graduating from Villanova University in 1949 and beginning his career as a CPA, Frank began one of his lifelong passions, traveling to Italy. It was there in 1956 he met the love of his life, Nadia Ferri, on a train between Rome and Venice, and subsequently began their 55 year marriage with a ceremony in Lido di Venezia on December 15, 1956. A devoted husband and father, Frank was a tireless worker who never retired as a sole practitioner for 62 years in public accounting even working through illness in his final tax year in the spring of 2012. Frank will be remembered fondly by all as a caring man whose passions included working with Nadia on their home of 48 years (nicknamed the "Woodpecker" by neighbors for his odd-hour carpentry), basking in the sun at their pool, and tending to his fig trees and tomato plants. A cup of coffee in San Marco Square in Venice was his own personal heaven. Frank is survived by his wife, Nadia, children Nicoletta Hutto and Francesco Linsalata and his wife Rosa, grandchildren Victoria Hutto and Danilo Linsalata, and his siblings Jean Costello and Lenore Cahill. Other family members include father of Victoria, Furman Hutto, and children of Rosa Linsalata, Ariana Trejo and Devin Trejo. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday evening, 7-9 PM and Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600 and to his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Main Campus Chapel, 800 E. Lancaster Avenue, Villanova. Interment will follow in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to The American Heart Association, 1617 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA 19103 would be appreciated. Online condolences www.donohuefuneralhome.com

Helen and I are very saddened by the passing of Frank, a dear friend since 1957. He will be missed for his sunny outlook on life, his humor in the telling of family stories, his pride in his children and grandchildren, his devotion to his wife Nadia and his love of family and life. Our deepest sympathies. Helen and Stan Segall

Frank Linsalata was a great man and an important figure in my life. Not only did he guide my family and I through our financial affairs with a steady hand for over 30 years, he was a personal friend, who was always happy to take time (when he could find it) to have lunch with me and discuss politics and world events. His advice was always very important to me. I can't imagine life without him here. I'm going to miss him a lot.

To Frank's Family. I have worked at Farruggio's Express for about 30 years and have always enjoyed when Frank came to visit. He was a wonderful person, and I know he and Jean are in heaven discussing accounting. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love and Peace to all. Nancy Bono
