Gertrude Brett Obituary

Gertrude Allinson MacIntosh Brett died at her home in Haverford, November 30, 2012 in her 88th year. Daughter of the late Dr. Archibald and Margaret Taylor MacIntosh of Haverford, she was the widow of the late John Edward Brett of Hudson Heights, Quebec, Canada. Survived by daughter, Elizabeth Allinson Brett of Woodbridge, Ct., son, John Christopher Brett, Arrowsic, ME, four grandchildren, Daniel Brett Rounsaville (Rebecca Soinski) of Providence, RI, Edward Allinson Rounsaville (Catherine Ward) Brooklyn, NY, Anne Elizabeth Brett, Newport, RI, John Alexander Brett of Maine and one great-grandson. Also survived by her brother, Charles Archibald MacIntosh of Haverford, a niece and two nephews. Trudie was a graduate of the Haverford Friends School and Westtown School, attended Bryn Mawr College and graduated from McGill University, Canada in 1946. She subsequently received a Masters degree in Education from Temple University and taught reading for a time at Haverford Friends School. Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Saturday, December 8 at 2 p.m, Haverford Friends Meeting, 855 Buck Lane, Haverford. Interment private.
