Lois Rennix

Lois Souder Rennix passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29th, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 and a resident of Bala-Cynwyd for almost 60 years. Lois was very active in community and church organizations including the Bala-Cynwyd Women's Club (Past President), Penn Valley Women's Club, Red Hat Society, New Horizons for Active Adults, Union Fire Association, St. John's Episcopal Church (Bala-Cynwyd), and St. Mary's Episcopal Church (Ardmore). She also served as a Cub Scout den mother and team mother for numerous sports for her four boys. Born in Radnor, Pa. on August 11th, 1931, she was the second child of the late Lewis and Constance Souder. She was married to Samuel W. Rennix, Jr. on February 16th, 1952 at St. Mary's. She was survived by her brother, Lewis R. Souder, III and his wife Holly, and her five children - Samuel W. Rennix, III and his wife Michaelle, Tina R. Veen and her husband Michael, Christopher P. Rennix and his wife Cecilia, Mark O. Rennix and his wife Louise, and Craig A. Rennix and his wife Petra. Her sisters Constance Lolli and Cynthia Newman preceded her in death. Lois had 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends were able to meet with the family at a Visitation at Chadwick and McKinney Funeral Home where several women wore one of Lois's legendary Christmas sweaters. The Reverend Dr. Michael Giansiracusa, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, presided at the Memorial Service on December 1st that included readings by Petra and David Rennix, Elizabeth Bickford, and Margaret Rennix.
