Margaret Maclnnes Obituary

Margaret Blair MacInnes formerly of Bryn Mawr, passed away on December 3, 2012, in Chapel Hill, NC. Peg was born in Corry, PA, on November 4, 1911, to the late Frank and Grace Blair. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack A. MacInnes. A graduate of Mercyhurst College, she worked with special needs children while living on Long Island and in the Philadelphia suburbs. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Edmond's Home for Children before moving to North Carolina in 1985. She was a member of Aronimink Golf Club while living on the Main Line. Proud of her Scottish heritage, she and her husband organized several golf tours to Scotland for club members. She remained active well into her 90's and followed a regimen of walking and a daily swim until the age of 98. She was predeceased by her daughter Ann Gallagher and son James MacInnes. She is survived by grandchildren Lee Gallagher (Bill McNair), Blair Gallagher, John MacInnes (Iris), Dorothy Fowler (Gordon), three great grandchildren, and nephew Bob Blair. A funeral mass was held at St. Thomas More Church in Chapel Hill with interment at Calvary Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Edmond's Home for Children, 320 S. Roberts Rd., Rosemont, PA 19010.
