I miss her, and remember how she used to drive me to Mass! (Now, that is an problem for me, again...). We need more good Samaritans like her around. And we used to talk about the similarities between the Irish and the Jews (I'm both Jewish and Catholic). Dear Mary Kane, pray for me! Thanks.

I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Mary's death. I couldn't come to funeral-- had important medical tests, that I couldn't reschedule. I tried to send you Mass cards-- maybe one went thru; the other, was sent back to me, as un-forwardable by the Post Office. How can I get the second one to you? My email is [email protected]. Please contact me at your convenience. Meanwhile, I will try to haggle with the PO. I prayed the Office for the Dead for her, too (in my breviary). May God be with us all, and may she rest in peace. Blessings,

With brother Joseph in 1953

For several years during college, and my mother after me, I rented the third floor apartment from Mary. I remember her with fondness. She was a great landlady with always a friendly word. I am a Realtor now and was thinking of her lately when I saw the Cricket Avenue house was for sale. I am saddened to learn of her passing.

My deepest sympathy to Mary's family. I enjoyed chatting with Mary when I delivered Meals on Wheels to her every Thursday. She will be greatly missed.
