Suzanne Thompson Obituary

Suzanne (nee Coley) Thompson, 90, of West Brandywine, PA, passed away on March 17, 2021. Born August 29, 1930 in East St. Louis, IL, she was the daughter of the late Reginald H. and Vivian (nee Walker) Coley. Suzanne loved the creative arts and enjoyed photography, painting, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, bridge, and creating a loving home for her family. She was active in the community as a volunteer for Paoli Memorial Hospital, the Special Olympics, and her beloved Church, St. Francis in the Fields. Together with her husband, the late Peter Thompson, Suzanne co-founded the Devon Strafford Little League for Girls, still in existence today. After attending Columbia University Suzanne worked in advertising and traveled much of the world. She is survived by her children, Dr. Peter Thompson and Jane Thompson Willgren; her son-in-law Krister Willgren and her beloved granddaughter, Annika Willgren. A private service will be held at her graveside at St. Francis in the Fields in celebration of Suzanne’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Francis in the Fields Endowment Fund 689 Sugartown Road, Malvern, PA 19335 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
