Gale Parker Obituary
She grew up in Sutton, MA and graduated from Sutton High School.
She met her husband of 66 years John A. Parker at Staton Memorial Baptist Church in Miami, Fl, where she sang in the choir. He remembers noticing the beautiful angel in the choir loft. They married and raised three boys together.
Gale primarily worked as the Department of Physiological Sciences office manager at the University of Fl. She was also a fantastic seamstress and had a side business offering her sewing skills for years. She also owned The Heirloom Shoppe, an antique store in the Thronebrook Shopping Center in Gainesville, Fl.
She is preceded in death by her father, Stuart Johnson and her mother, Vera Johnson, and her siblings, Valerie, Jeanine, Grant and Walter.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Parker, sister-in-law Sandy (Walter) Johnson; sons Timothy (Melanie), Stephen Parker (Becky), Jonathan Parker (Karen); grandchildren Lauren Giantaglia (Rodolfo), Brooke and Seth, Eric Thomas and Molly Parker; Andy (Megan), Katie, Matthew and Luke, and great-grandchildren Sofia Ford, Abigail Parker and Kade Parker.
Gale passed away at the age of 87, on February 23, 2023. Her service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, at The First Baptist Church of Micanopy, with visitation from 9:30- 10:30 and a service to follow. Burial at 1:30 at Forest Meadows, on 39th Ave and 43rd Street. In place of flowers, you can offer a memorial donation in honor of Gale to The First Baptist Church of Micanopy.
