Dorothy Stone Obituary

Dorothy (Dot) Norwood Stone, age 79 of Bentonville, Arkansas, and formerly of Malvern, died Saturday morning, April 8, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. She was born on November 11, 1937 in Malvern to the late Connie Shuffield and Ozee Prince Shuffield. Reared and receiving her early education in Malvern and Hot Springs, she later attended Blue Mountain Women's College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. As a college student, she drew upon her creativity and majored in art. She was very adept at sewing and loved crafts. Dot was a homemaker and reared three daughters with her first husband, Larry Norwood. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Centerton, Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, David Stone of Bentonville, to whom she was married on November 14, 1992; by her children, Lara Biles (Roy) of Centerton, Arkansas, Lisa Bell (Stuart) of Seattle, Washington, and Lynn Hills (Jamie) of Rogers, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Ryan Biles (Natalie), Randi Weigle (Tim), Emily Tyler (Matt), Lucas Bell (Kyla), Drew Hills, and Taylor Hills; and five great-grandchildren, Graham, Grayson, and Grady Biles, and Robby and Charlie Weigle.
A graveside service was held in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Malvern, Arkansas, on Monday morning, April 10, 2017, at eleven o'clock with Reverend Stuart Bell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.
Memorials are requested to First Baptist Church, 351 W. Centerton Blvd., Centerton, AR 72719.
