James Yost

1935 - 2024

James Yost, age 89, of Poyen, AR, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Baptist Health Medical Center – Conway. He was born on March 3, 1935, in Miami, OK, the son of Elmer Leon and Evelyn Yost. He worked for Western Forge for many years manufacturing tools. James was a member of the Poyen Assembly of God.  He loved to paint, garden, babysit his grandchildren, especially loved to read his Bible and was an avid Packers Football fan.
James is preceded in death by his parents; children, Tammy Kidder, Robin Brown and Michael Goyne.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 33 years, Phoebe Harris Yost; a very special nephew, Scott Bynum; brothers, Eddie Yost of Colorado Springs, Bill Bynum of OK City, OK, and Roger Bynum of Colorado Springs; sister, Jo Anne Schooley of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jessica Stinson, Magon Kratz (Damon), Amanda Williams-Lecroy, Chauncey McCalister, John Brown, Natoya Brown, Chez Brown, Michaela Schumacher, and Molly Goyne; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Poyen Assembly of God Church from 10-11 am; with the Memorial Service starting at 11am, with Rev. Jason Keilser and Bro. Dylan Moody officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Robbins, Ray Murray and his church family.
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Arbor Oaks Rehab Center, for the wonderful care they provided.
