Christopher "Chris" Appicelli, age 47 of Manistee, passed away on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at Spectrum Health - Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born on November 11, 1973 in Manistee, son of Keith and Carole (Lemonnier) Appicelli. Chris attended Onekama Consolidated Elementary School and then attended Manistee High School where he graduated with the class of 1992.
Chris married Sharon Kott on August 26, 2006 in Onekama. He worked as a Tow Truck Operator for 30 years with his father and later became the owner/operator of Appicelli's Towing/Recovery and Auto Repair.
He enjoyed tow trucks, four wheeling, riding around, being outdoors in the nature, camping, fishing, and socializing with family and friends.
Chris is survived by his wife, Sharon Appicelli of Manistee; parents, Keith and Carole Appicelli of Onekama; sister, Cathryn Needham of Petoskey; nephews, Connor and Chase Needham of Petoskey; father and mother-in-law, Harlan and Charlotte Kott of Manistee; aunts, Karen Lemonnier and Charron Richley; uncle, William Diesing; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jonathon and Norma Lemonnier and Pete and Marion Appicelli; and uncle, Jonathan "Jack" Lemonnier.
Visitation for Chris will take place from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee.
The funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama with Father Ruben Munoz celebrant. Burial will follow at Onekama Village Cemetery #2.
A memorial procession to honor Chris with tow trucks and flashing lights from the funeral home to the church on Wednesday morning will take place. If you would like to take part in the procession, please arrive at the funeral home beginning at 9:30AM, as we will leave for church at 10:15AM.
Social distancing and Covid-19 protocols will be followed.
