Davee Dove Obituary

Davee Rae Dove (Rector), 88, resident of Kent City, Michigan, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus on December 19, 2025, after a short illness.
Davee was born September 6, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, to Bill Rector and Cora Jean Rector (St. John).
In 1955 Davee graduated from Kaleva Norman Dixon HS - now Brethren HS.
Throughout her lifetime Davee worked at several banks in Michigan and California and ended her career in Tavernier, FL working as the classified editor for the Upper Keys Reporter.
She loved quilting, fishing, singing Disney songs, traveling and has read literally thousands of books. She has traveled throughout the country and twice traveled to Europe. She loved doing anything that is fun and makes you laugh.
Davee spent her last years living with her beloved son, Craig Nye, and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer. She wanted to express a special thanks to Jennifer for helping to care for her as Craig traveled extensively for work. Davee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dove. She is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Schaar (Gavin Schaar) and Hailey Nye; great grandchildren, Faith Schaar and Noah Schaar; brother, Larry Rector (Donna Rector); sister, Deborah Rector (Pat Sacheck); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Casual attire is required by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to: Corewell Health Hospice, 1239 East Beltline Avenue, NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525: corewellhealth.org/foundation/west.
Davee was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt that was the epitome of happiness and loved the holidays with family, especially Christmas. Whenever Davee was around laughter was sure to follow. She will be greatly missed but remembered warmly.

Davee You were always so much fun to be around. Especially on the Platte River floats. Hilarious times getting in and out of those silly inner tubes. Oh and the many times family got together playing cards and dice games and your laughter!! You will be missed by so many. You are now back in the arms of Bob and your mom and dad . Rest in Peace ❤
