David Townsend, age 64, left earth April 30 from his home. He was born April 24, 1961 in Vermontville of parents Larry and Connie Townsend. Born a twin to Diane, he had one brother and two sisters. He moved to Brethren in high school and graduated from Kaleva-Norman-Dickson High School.
David worked on oil rigs for a time but most years worked for L. C. Townsend Trucking in Bear Lake.
David loved his family, his dog, fishing, hunting, and his many friends.
He was preceded in death soon after birth, by his twin sister, Diane, much later his father and mother, and brother-in-law, Phillip Rood.
He is survived by his brother, Mike (Debbie)Townsend; two sisters, Sandra (Dan) McKee, and Pamela Rood; nieces and nephews, Lisa (Tom) Trevino and Michael (Jenasee) Townsend, and Lindsey (Brian) Knechtges and Maegan (Eric) Walber and Matthew (Jamie) Rood; also great nephews, Ian and Brandon Rood and Rhowen Townsend, and Audrey Rood; also great great nieces, Geneva Walber and Emma Trevino and great great nephews, Owen and Witt Knechtges.
Memorial Services will be held at the Lakeview Church of the Brethren in Brethren on the corner of Coates Highway and High Bridge Road on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. Visitation will precede the service at the church at 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the Brethren Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Church of the Brethren.
