JoAnn (Tudie) Krus of Bear Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully, Monday October 13, 2025, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan.
She was born on June 20, 1939, in Manistee, Michigan, and preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Alice Adamczak, her partner of 40 years Vern R. Bowling, and brother-in-law William Allard.
Tudie is survived by her sister Alice Joyce Allard of Bradenton, Florida, her only daughter Lynne (Gordon Pawlaczyk) Krus, of Garden City, Michigan, sons Brian (Tammy) Krus of Manistee, Daniel Krus of Brethren, and Joseph (Becky) Krus of Manistee, granddaughters, Dr. Kelsey Lynne Krus, Hannah Krus, Dr. Kaitlyn Krus, and Jennifer Arkwriht. She also leaves behind to beloved kitties, Vera and Elvira. A special thank you to Debbie Ott for always being kind and helpful to Tudie.
Tudie as a young gal worked at her parent's market, Adamczak Grocery Store, and then for many years as a cashier at the Eberhard Food Store. Just recently she attended an Eberhard employee reunion and enjoyed it very much. She spent many years raising white tailed deer and later, llamas (JoVe Llamas), showing the llamas, shearing and dyeing the wool, making yarn and felting too. She enjoyed trying new recipes, gardening and many crafts. Tudie was a true artisan. She was skilled in stained glass, kiln glass design, painting, basket weaving and crafting beautiful jewelry pieces. She was a member of the Onekama Guild and volunteered at the Onekama Guild Thrift Store.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bungalow Inn in Manistee, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter o Manistee County, in JoAnn's name.
The Herbert Funeral home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
