Lila Marie Olson, 95, of Manistee, passed away on Wednesday August 18, 2021.
Lila was born on January 1, 1926, in Paw Paw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph Pearson and Alice (Laws) Ives. Lila married Elmer Olson on April 28, 1946, at Norwalk Lutheran Church and they shared 45 years together before Elmer's passing in 1991.
Lila was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing all kinds of fabric for clothing and other things. You could find a room full of fabrics for specialty of making quilts. She enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together, which she would sometimes glue to a board for wall hanging. She did a lot of knitting and crocheting.
Her real enjoyment in later years was going to the Senior Center and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judy (Herb) Bradford of Manistee, Sue (Ted) Melonas of Florida, and Sheri Baran of Manistee; her grandchildren Ben Bradford of Manistee, Dennis (McAnn) Bradford of Onekama, Marty (Mary) Bradford of O'Fallon, Missouri, Holly (Todd) Walker of Arcadia, Cathy (Ron) Urbanski of North Carolina, Greg (DeAnn) Melonas of Cheboygan, Steve (Jami) Baran of Manistee, and Jon Baran of Milford; her great-grandchildren Keith Bradford, Jarrett Bradford, McKenzie Bradford, Ethan Walker, Peter, Max, Great and Hans Bradford, Melody and Ashley Baran, and Gabbie and Gavin Melonas; her sister-in-law Audrey Pearson; her special friend Faye Hadeway, her niece Carol Dyer and her lifetime friend Nellie Blakely.
Besides for her parents and husband, Lila is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Pearson, and a grandson.
A graveside service will be held on August 28, 2021, at 10:30AM at Norwalk Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Manistee County Council on Aging in Lila's name.
