Rod Beckman Obituary
LUDINGTON -- Rod (Rodger) Gregory Beckman passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2017.
Rod Beckman was born Sept. 18,1948 and was a loving husband, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend. The beloved local disc jockey and sports announcer was age 69.
A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church. Visitation is on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Ludington.
Memorial donations may be made to: Lakeshore Food Club and Optimist Childhood Cancer Campaign.

Oh my God I was looking for my brother's obit and found ro'd's instead. We did have some times together - one comes to mind where we both received the riot act - I don't remember who was the most animated or vocal, your mom or mine.and I do remember that Grandma Grace had her fair share to say. Judy seemed to enjoy the scene the most. Of, Course. May you forever rest in peace Rod. my hartfelt prayers and conolences to your family an friends.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rods extensive family and friends. Aside from Shelby High School Class of 66 memories, I want to share and example of the really special life Rod led. When my mom moved to senior apartments in Ludington somehow Rod found out she was there and went to visit her and then brought his mom Irene to see her. It meant so very much to mom (Betty Adams Horton) in her declining years to feel special, recognized by one of my classmates from her hometown of Shelby. Small thing to do. Big thing in the life of an aging senior citizen. Special, special person who brought special moments to many lives. Never to be forgotten.
