Ross Lee Brown

Ross Lee Brown, 76, of Manistee, Michigan passed away suddenly at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital on December 4, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1944 in Peabody Massachusetts, the son of the late Carl Brown and the late Corrine Sheltra, and attended Peabody High School in Peabody, Massachusetts. Following high school, Ross served honorably on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966, attaining the rank of Sergeant and serving in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he married Guila Stone with whom he had two children (Dawn Machia & Christopher Brown). He later married Julie Gauthier on July 29, 2006 and she predeceased him on December 8, 2017.
Ross was a longtime employee of CSX Transportation as an Engineer until he retired in 2006. Throughout his life, Ross was an avid sportsman, he loved fishing, hunting and trapping and was involved in several related organizations in the Manistee area.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Machia, and her husband Bill Machia of Saint Albans, Vermont, his son, Christopher Brown, and his wife Ann of Framingham, Massachusetts, his stepson Troy Gauthier and his finance Donna Dege of Kaleva, Michigan, his step daughter Tammy Traeger of Bear Lake, Michigan, his sister Linda Fadden of Dalzelle, South Carolina, his brother Ronald Brown and his wife Monique of Peabody, Massachusetts, his brother Larry Brown of Lake City, Florida, his sister-in-law Lynn Brown of Derby, Vermont, his grandchildren, Michael and Kathryn Brown of Framingham, Massachusetts, and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie, his parents, Carl and Corrine Brown, and his brothers, Robert and Bruce.
His family has planned a graveside service at Coventry Village Cemetery in Coventry, Vermont on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 3:00pm. Friends and family are welcome.
