Perrysville - Alfred R. Fowler, Jr., 82, died at home January 16, 2021 in Perrysville, Ohio. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends.

Al was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Lucas, Ohio and the Lucas Community Food Pantry. He was a US veteran of the Navy and Marines.

Al was an artist and inventor with his iron working abilities. His interest included fishing, reading, gardening, rose-gardening, and blacksmithing.

He spent 30 years of his life as a farrier and blacksmith. The next 30 years as a station and relief manager for Swifty Gas Stations. He worked up to his final days at the Lucas Community Food Pantry.

Al is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary (Long) Fowler; son Dana Fowler and daughter Tara Fowler both of Las Vegas. Half brothers Terry Fowler and Stan Fowler both of Crestline; half-sisters Barbie of Cygnet and Edie of Norwalk; as well as his two faithful four legged companions, Mr. Lion and Short Short.

In lieu of flowers his family asks for all donations to go to, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church or the Lucas Community Food Pantry.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4065 Mt. Zion Road, Lucas, Ohio 44843, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10 am.

Mary and family,
Carl and I are so sorry to hear of Al's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May God comfort you and give you peace. Al will be sorely missed at the Pantry as well as by all of you. Tae comfort and know he is at peace and walking the streets of heaven.
