Darelle Collins Obituary

FREDERICKTOWN: Darelle D. Collins, age 72, of Fredericktown, died Monday October 26, 2009 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Darelle was born February 11, 1937 in Mansfield to Fred Donald Collins and Nellie Marie (Schoenian) Collins and was raised by Clayton B. and Edith Schindler in Mansfield.
He graduated from Amity High School and served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis.
Darelle was employed by Rural Farm Delivery, agriculture services, in Fredericktown for 25 years. Following retirement he assisted local auctioneers Kenny Gilmore, Tommy Scott, Larry Moore, and Red Shaw.
He was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon and was an avid bowler and member of the American Bowling Congress. Darelle enjoyed gardening and loved spending time outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Leona (Spearman) Collins whom he married May 17, 1959; his son, Darren (Jenny) Collins of Mount Vernon; his daughter, Laurie (Manny) Iglesias of Florence, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Lauren, Ally and Caroline Iglesias and Teresa Marcheskie of Delaware, Ohio; two great grandsons, Justin and Conner Marcheskie; his father, Clayton B. Schindler of Lexington, Ohio; brothers, Clay Schindler and Richard Schindler both of Akron; sister, Debbie Short of Akron; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and always made time for. He was preceded in death by his birth parents; his mother, Edith Schindler; and brothers, Fred and Doug Collins.
Friends may call Thursday October 29, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Keith Bohley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
