Janet Griffith Obituary

Janet Sue Griffith

MANSFIELD: Janet Sue Griffith, age 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday afternoon, October 9, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born July 25, 1940 in Grayson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Goldia (Whitt) Jackson. She married James Griffith on November 10, 1956 and they moved to Mansfield over 50 years ago. Janet's love of the Lord was evident in every way she lived her life and she lovingly instilled those values in her children as she took on the full time task of raising five wonderful children. She attended Christ Gospel Church for 15 years. A very neat and tidy person, she found life's greatest enjoyment in being with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Griffith, Sr.; children, Dianna (Greg) Thompson, James Griffith, Jr., Angela (Edward) Bailey; Sonja Buchanan (Wade Roberts) and Sarah (Luis) Gonzalez; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Day; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Thompson and three brothers, William "Ermal", Mack and Gary Jackson.

Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be in the funeral home Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Abe Figueroa of Christ Gospel Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
