Jerry Hamler Obituary
MANSFIELD: Jerry Lee Hamler, age 69, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Hospice House of Ashland.
He was born August 29, 1944 in Columbus to parents Donald and Agnes (Hoyt) Hamler. Jerry was raised in a very loving and positive family.
He was graduated from Madison High School in 1964 where he was a star athlete on the football and track teams.
Jerry worked 30 years for Tappan and retired as a supervisor. He married Betty Frances Bosko on May 19, 2004 and they spent the last nine years travelling around the state of Ohio together.
Jerry continued his passion for sports by playing slow-pitch softball as an adult and he umpired for many years. He also coached youth baseball and basketball because he had a great love for children. Additional spare time was spent fishing on Lake Erie.
He was a member of VFW Post #9943, Sons of Herman and Order of Owls Nest #1152 all of Mansfield.
In addition to his wife, Betty Hamler, he is survived by a son, Jerry Andrew Hamler of Mansfield; step-children, Steve (Angela) Bosko, Jeff Bosko, Randy Brown, Debra (Mike) Eden and Shannon Brown; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Shepherd of Sandusky, Carol Ohlemacher of Sandusky and Donna Jean Melton of Mansfield; three brothers, William (Bernice) Hamler of Huron, Donald (Jill) Hamler of Mansfield and Thomas (Nancy) Hamler of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his loving daughter, Kelly Evans.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Pastor Rick Wiseman will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
Contributions in Jerry's honor to the Hamler Memorial Fund may be made at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear that Jerry passed away. Growing up, some of our happiest memories have been family picnics that included going to "The Shanty" with all of the aunts, uncles, and cousins, sometimes Sunday afternoons at Grandma and Grandpa Hoyt's with all of us out running and playing in the yards. Please know you are all in my prayers as you go through this time and I pray you are comforted by happy memories of your own.
