Marlene Engle Obituary

Marlene Sue Engle

MANSFIELD: Marlene Sue Engle, age 68, of Mansfield passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland following a long illness.

Marlene was born August 13, 1945 in Cambridge and was graduated from Buffalo High School. She was raised in the Guernsey County area, a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized. Recently she had been attending Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Mansfield.

She was a sports fanatic, following her professional Cleveland Teams (GO BROWNS!), and was quite a good bowler. Marlene also enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe. Her true passion was her music. Marlene was a talented musician playing the accordion, organ and piano, and simply loved music of all types. Marlene had a tender place in her heart for animals and dearly loved her Myorkie (Maltese and Yorkie mix) Jayden.

Friendly and outgoing, Marlene was very social and managed to make friends everywhere she went. Social and engaging, she had a wonderful sense of humor that people couldn't help but to gravitate towards her.

Marlene will be missed by her son Brian K. Engle of Orlando, Florida; granddaughter Kaitlyn Engle and her mother Kimberly Engle of Rockledge, Florida; her fiancé Myron Beer of Mansfield, and his children Mark and Yvonne Beer of Falls Church, Virginia and Allison and Deron Hiles of Tampa, Florida; Myron's grandchildren Matthew, Bethany, and Laurel; a sister Deborah and Russ Weaver; an uncle whom she looked to as a brother Ira C. Albin, Jr.; close cousin Jennifer and Steve Barretta, and their son Nick; her former husband Kenneth F. Engle of Lexington; and many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Victorine Albin and Paul Holub, maternal grandparents Ira C. and Lura S. Albin, and an aunt Patricia Albin.

Friends may call Friday, May 7, 2014 from 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 am. The Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki will officiate and burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society, Hospice of North Central Ohio or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
