In 1967, Judge Johns was elected as Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge. During his 6 years of office, he actively fought to improve conditions for youth offenders. He was a driving force to encourage Mansfield to build and maintain a Juvenile Detention Center to appropriately house youth. He continued to serve as a Municipal Judge for another 12½ years. After retirement, Judge Johns and his wife, Elaine, moved to North Carolina, Florida, and finally, Fort Worth, Texas. The Judge was an active participant in Civil War reenactments. My deepest sympathy to the family. I worked in the clerks office when Judge Johns was Judge. I had a high respect for him. You both attended my wedding. He stopped in and saw me after he retired. Sat outside on picnic bench and talked for almost an hr. He truely cared. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Judge Johns passing. I always had a respect for Judge Johns and always enjoyed talking to him in his chambers at Mansfield Municipal Court. He taught me early in my career at the Sheriff's Office that it's always the State of Ohio v John Doe not Dale v John Doe. This helped me immensely and I will always be thankful for that. Thoughts and prayers to his family. We have lost a truly good man. Had I known he lived here in Fort Worth I would have been sure to visit him.

Mrs. Johns, Tammy and Mike, my Deepest Sympathy. Judge Johns was quite the character but one I will always remember fondly! He gave me my start with the Municipal Court, still here 38 years later! Thanks Tammy for sending me his way. My heart goes out to you all at this time of sadness.

My prayers are with you Mrs. Johns and your family. I want you to know that Judge Johns saved my life when I was 15 years old. I ran away from home and had to go to court. Judge Johns looked me in the eye and said why are you in my court room? I started crying and he asked us to meet him in his chambers. (my Mother) They talked about me as if I wasn't in the room. Long story short..he sent me to the JDC in Columbus and I knew 1 day in, I didn't belong there. I'm 59 years old now...not even a traffic ticket since. Your husband and father told me in his chambers that day (I was a leader not a follower) I'm crying as I write this and I know its because Judge Johns had such a huge impact on my life and I raised 2 wonderful kids (Roche 41 and Rennelle 39) Thank you for sharing a BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT with me. Do not Weep for Me

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell
among the wonders of the earth; for my larger
self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other
side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine
that touches your skin, a tropical breeze
upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart
and the innocence of babes in mother's arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your
hour of need, I will be there to comfort you.
I will share your tears, your joys, your fears,
your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels,
and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses
the flowers. I am the calm that follows a
raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats
among the garden of God, and I am pure
white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die,
as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.
