Robert White Obituary

Robert "Bob" V. White Jr.

Mansfield - On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Robert "Bob" V. White Jr., passed away unexpectedly at his home at the age of 73.

Bob was born on June 30, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School in 1965 where he was an active FFA member. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Prairie from 1966 to 1969. He then went on to The Ohio State University majoring in Agricultural Economics graduating in 1973.

Bob worked in agricultural sales for 38 years for various companies such as Massey Ferguson, Asgrow, and Monsanto. His extraverted nature and sense of humor made him perfect for sales.

Bob enjoyed photography and travel. He also loved music, especially classic rock and roll and blues guitar. He attended many concerts over the years and his favorite musicians were Eric Clapton, the Eagles, and BB King. He also enjoyed going to Indy and NASCAR races, and OSU football games (season ticket holder for 48 years). His passion for antique engines had him going to shows up until he passed away. His more relaxed pursuits included watching YouTube videos and the Hallmark channel, and of course spending time with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sherry; twin daughters, Amanda (Aaron) Zimmerman and Lyndsey (Peter) Anderson; grandchildren, Clayton and Leo Zimmerman, and Max and Marie Anderson; his siblings, Pam (Mark) Venzeio, Scott (Christina) White, and Kelly (Darlene) White; his brother and sister-in-law Barry and Abbey Carroll; and brother-in-law Clay Fenton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances White; and his in-laws, Clayton and Dorothy Fenton.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 on what would have been his 74th birthday, from 1-4 pm. A private family burial will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests a compassionate gift or deed for the less fortunate. We encourage you to stop by a friend's house unannounced to "shoot the breeze" and reconnect with someone you care about, just like Bob always enjoyed.

So sorry for your loss. Bob was a very nice man and I know how much he loved all three of his "girls" very much. My sister was very fond of him and enjoyed the time she spent with your family many years ago.
