Ronald C. McCrea

Mansfield - Ronald C. McCrea, 52, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Avita Ontario Hospital. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 12, 1968 to the late Ralph and Linda (Pottenger) McCrea.

Ron graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and worked as a forklift operator at 3D Metals. He was a horror movie fanatic and attended numerous conventions, bringing home souvenirs to add to his movie memorabilia. Fascinated by the artwork, Ron liked exploring cemeteries with his best friend, Douglas. He enjoyed car shows and spent many summers attending them. A fan of NASCAR, his favorite driver was Matt Kenseth. Ron was proud of his Scottish Heritage and traveled to Europe to explore and learn more about it. Cherishing every moment together, he loved spending time with his family, especially having cookouts and dinners. He also loved tattoos and liked to ride quads.

Ron is survived by his son, Max Wigton (Melanie Bickel); sister, Jen Wilson and BFAM, Douglas Christian; sister, Apryl (Paul) Kingman; nieces, Nadia Kingman and Danika Kingman; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Linda L. (Bolen) McCrea; and beloved Rottweiler, Sasha.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. A private funeral service will be held for the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ron. We first met at community bible church. We were latter classmates in Jr High, and high school. He was a good guy.
May God bless your family during this tough time.
