Donald J. Decareau, 79, of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Marblehead, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 31, 1946, in Saugus, Massachusetts, Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he built a long and successful career with MK Associates, where his hard work and leadership left a lasting impact.
Don was happiest on the golf course or out on the water, but his greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren play the sports they love. A quiet man with a sharp wit, Don was known for his one-liners, his strength, and his generous heart. Tough as they come, yet endlessly devoted to his family, he embodied love and loyalty in everything he did.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Rockett, and her husband, Bill; his son, Matthew Decareau, and his wife, Ellen; and his grandchildren, Owen, Hayden, Wes, Hailey, and Colin. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Barbara Hughes, and his sister, Susan Lima, and her husband, Paul. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy (Reed) Decareau.
A celebration of life will be held at Tedesco Country Club, 154 Tedesco Street, Marblehead, MA, on November 21 at 1 p.m.
