Christine Kahn Obituary

Christine Kahn Christine passed away peacefully on January 17, 2015. Born December 17, 1926 in San Rafael, CA to Toby and Irene Hock. San Rafael HS class of '44. After calling San Francisco home for a handful of years, Christine and husband William moved to Burlingame with their five sons in 1965. While running an in-home day care center for the next 15 years, Christine became an accomplished cymbidium orchid cultivator and rose gardener, many of which still flourish around town as she happily shared the plants with whoever was interested. A tennis whiz and photo bug, Christine was active throughout her adult life. A real mom in every sense of the word, Christine loved her husband and lived for her five sons. Known for her gregarious personality, Christine had a knack of remembering everybody's name and always greeted everyone with a smile and a cheery hello! Preceded in death by her husband; sons William Jr. and Jeffrey, and brother Allan. Survived by sister Carol; sister-in-laws Helen, Ilene and Elva; cousin Lois; bff Audrey; sons Eric and wife Becky, Frank and wife Bo and Russell; daughter-in -law Veronique and new husband Jeff; grandchildren Jennifer, Natalie, Ashley, Jorja, and Daniel; nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, and many, many lifelong friends. Services for family and friends will be held on January 31, 2015 at 10:00AM at Skylawn Memorial Park (Hwy 92 and Skyline Blvd, San Mateo 650-349-4411). Thank you for donations in Christine's name to The Salvation Army and Second Harvest Food Bank in lieu of flowers.
