Darren Malvin Born on May 27, 1966, died tragically on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 close to his home in Homestead Valley. Darren is survived by his wife Mira, daughter Rachel (7), father and stepmother Michael and Barbara Malvin, siblings Scott Malvin, Maitreya Rose Silver and Matthew Malvin and his loyal dogs Bo and Baloo. Darren was preceded in death by his mother Sherry Silver Cracknell and survived by step-father, Ian Cracknell. Darren was an amazing man who gave so much to his family, friends, co-workers and community. Darren had a larger than life personality and was completely dedicated to everything he did. He was a doting father, going above and beyond to create magical memories for Rachel. He passionately loved his wife Mira and was devoted to building their life together, only months away from moving into their dream home they designed and built from the ground up. Born out of the belief that there was a better way to live while improving the world we live in, Darren founded American Solar where he operated as chief executive. He sat on the board of the Homestead Valley Community Association and helped lead the Homestead Valley Music Festival. He was cherished dearly and was an indelible part of the community. Darren will live on in our hearts but will be incredibly missed. May we all live our lives so fully and intentional as Darren. Services will take place at Acqua Hotel in the Richardson Room, Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 10:00am. In lieu of sending flowers, the family would be grateful for donations made in Darren's name to the Homestead Valley Community Association http://homesteadvalley.org, to add to the many meaningful contributions Darren made in the neighborhood he called home.

With over 30 years of friendship and more great memories than can be counted, Darren will always live on in my memory. I am saddened beyond words this has come to an end. See you in my dreams, brother.

Darren will hold a special place in my heart and memory as one of those rare people that became both a close personal friend and a business partner/mentor during our short two-year involvement together at Internet Solution Group. Darren's vision and commitment to his team was unrivaled, his dedication to the mission at hand was unrelenting. His passion and creativity were admirable. And while I lost touch with Darren after he moved to the Bay area, he was often in my thoughts and always brought a smile to me as a reminder of the many great memories and friends that I am fortunate to have and would not exist if it were not for Darren. I was not surprised to learn that Darren is considered a staple of his community and a passionate husband and father. I learned a lot from Darren and he will forever be a bright spot in my journey of life. My condolences to his family and those he left behind in this tragic loss. Mike Weave

Thank you Jefferson for putting this together.
Mike and I lost touch with Darren but we always had fond memories. If it had not been for Darren, Mike would not have met Mike Boemmels, Steve Bugbee, Jefferson Nunn, Dave Billson and so many others. I recall the days of ISG and all the company gatherings and thinking that Darren went out of his way to make his employees feel more like family/friends. We spent a lot of fun times, beach outings and barbeques. I cannot believe how much time has gone by and I wish we had gotten to meet Darren's wife and especially his daughter. There are no words to tell you how sorry we are. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember you wanting the red honda. You loved the trans am and the triple shrimp cocktails with you and Scott in AC. Hoping there really is a better place.
