DORIS CACERES Obituary

Doris J. Caceres Dec. 3, 1928 ~ Oct. 15, 2014 Doris was born in San Jose, California to Harold and Gladys Beck. She later moved with her family to Chico, California before eventually settling in San Francisco. It was in San Francisco where she met Dr. Alfredo "Al" Caceres, a dentist. They were married in 1949, and in May, 1957 welcomed daughter Lisa to the family. In November 1958, their son Ron was born. In 1960, the family moved from San Francisco to Belvedere (Marin County), California. Doris would become an active real estate tycoon, buying and selling several homes in Marin County. In her spare time she was also an active volunteer for several organizations, including the Marin Community Foundation and Driftwood society. In 1969, the family bought a small cabin in Lake Tahoe where Doris enjoyed spending time with her family in the summer and winter months. In later years she enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, and the island of Maui in particular. Doris was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She loved to laugh, throw parties, see her many friends, and enjoy life, which she lived fully. Toys for Tots was a charity close to Doris's heart. She held annual Christmas parties for her friends and always included in her invitations the request to bring an unwrapped toy for a needy child. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo and is survived by her daughter Lisa, son Ron, daughter-in-law Beth, and grandchildren Nicole Montgomery (Michael) and Kevin Caceres.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Doris' passing-she was so young at heart that I forgot her actual age! She was devoted to her family and was kind and generous to all. Sincere condolences to her family on the loss of a very special woman.
