I got to know Geoff over time from local activities. He attended many of our Speaker Series Events at Marin Museum of Bicycling. Geoff brought some magnificent wine to one of our events. I complimented him on the exceptional quality of the wine. At our next event he brought me a bottle of that wine. (which I'm guessing was quite expensive as it was a 2008) I still have the note written to me, attached to the bottle. I didn't know Geoff that well, but he gave me that bottle in appreciation for the events that he loved to attend. They were mostly about Bicycling -history, adventure, people. And that's what Geoff loved. I remember Geoff as quiet, and extremely modest -unless you mentioned a topic from his list of passions, then his eyes would light up and you would be eloquently regaled.
The cycling community is just that -a fellowship of individuals with a common passion. We can meet strangers at an event, a ride, or at the pub -and talk forever about these beloved contraptions that have become our lifestyle.
Geoff was a devoted acolyte of bicycles and bicycling, and he had a great nose for fine wine. Thank you Geoff. It was a privilege to have met you.

It's two years since Geoff died...and it still really hurts whenever October rolls around. I believe his b.d was 11/11/63... Tomorrow is Nov. 11 and I send him a warm hug thru the ether...wish I believed in something...PS hello John Potis. I miss you, too.

I am sorry I will not be able to run into and chat with Geoff any more. I leared so much from him in just passing the time.
