Jeffrey Leidall Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Leidall Was born on November 14, 1963, in Pomona, California. In 1974, his family moved to Santa Cruz, where Jeff's love for the ocean, the beaches, redwood trees and nature began. He graduated from High School there and earned a degree in Health Science/Community Health Education from San Diego State University. Jeff's career included positions at San Diego Hospice, Hospice of Marin, Hospice by the Bay, Aldersley Garden Retirement Community, and PRANDI Property Management. He also found time to volunteer for the Ceres Community Project by delivering wholesome, fresh meals to critically ill patients. Jeff loved the outdoors, especially hiking and cycling. He loved animals, especially his Basenji dog, Cody. Most of all he loved his friends, of which he had a million. Jeff, who nick-named himself a "social butterfly", connected immediately with most everyone he met through his open, generous, empathetic and very positive presence, conveying his deeply spiritual sense of self. On July 8, 2016, Jeff was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on his liver. After various treatments, by February 2018, the cancer metastasized to his ribs. Jeff's faith grew stronger and his love for others was a shining example to everyone. After taking a bucket list road trip adventure from San Rafael to Palm Springs, Jeff passed away in Palm Springs on August 29, 2018. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Mike Leidall; grandparents; sister, Vicki Leidall; cousin, Col. Larry J. Richards. He is survived by his parents, Emil and Donna Authelet; brother, John Authelet (Colleen) of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Karen Authelet of San Diego; nephew, Sean Authelet of Norman, OK; and many, many close friends, business associates, and other family members, all of whom mourn his loss. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Saturday, October 20th, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Lyford House, 376 Greenwood Beach Road, Tiburon.
