Ken was a great friend at Berkeley. We spent time at the fraternity together. He was happy, smiling, kind and upbeat! He built a catamaran we took out on the bay and sank together! He hadn't figured on needing to dry out the wood first! Got towed back in! I'll never forget his smile and laughter, nothing but sunshine behind those blue eyes! Lucky to have known Ken.

Ken was one of the finest human beings ever to walk the earth. He was a genuine authentic Christian and possessed a gentle, caring spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a belief in the goodness of people. I am very proud to have known him and to have had him call me his friend.
My heart goes out to Kris and the family.

Ken was probably the only Marin County Library staff member who was truly beloved and appreciated by all the other library employees. Because he made deliveries to all the branches, he was known by everyone on the staff for his kindness and his willingness to help with on-site problems. He never said no to a request for a helping hand. I believe he was Employee of the Year once, but that was comparatively faint praise. I was so sorry to hear of his passing; he was unique.

I was saddened to hear of the death of my high school classmate Ken. My memories of him are of his handsome looks and sweetness. As I read the guest book notes I am pleased that he had such a rich life. Please accept my sympathies for the loss of your dear Ken.

Dear Kris and family,
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
I have in my heart so many extremely fond memories of Ken from our high school and early college years. I will always remember him as the young, strong, vibrant athletic young man that he was. Ken was a super swimming talent on the SRHS Swim Team. I'm sure he seldom if ever talked about how very good he was but I was ever so envious of his talent in the water. He was great and set records too. We had so many wonderful times together whether it be water skiing in the delta and spending many summer days and nights with his mom and dad and sister Kathy, or backed in and cooking out in the back of my pickup at the drive-in movies, or racing up and down the back road leading from Bret Harte in his pride and joy the bright red 356 Porsche Speedster or even around the twisting, winding, narrow road out towards China Camp. Yes, we were young and thought we were invincible/indestructible, but we had good, clean fun. And oh the laughter that we shared. Never in trouble but living life as we knew it then, on the edge. The early and mid sixties were a fantastic time to live. I remember all too well the VW bus that he built into a camper so that he could live in it while attending USF. He had all the necessities and survived quite well, if not a meager living but he and I knew it would not last forever. I lost track of Ken during my 20+ years in the Army but ever so often I'd hear a little tidbit about how he was doing. I reconnected with him several years ago while he worked at the Marin County Library but then he retired and I lost him again, for a while. Finally I connected a few months ago and we spent quite some time on the telephone reminiscing and catching up. Gwyn and I were making plans to visit Ken at his Petaluma home in September this year during our visit to San Rafael for a family wedding when Kris sent me that email telling me this sad, sad news. I will surely miss that visit and regret that our trip and the wedding was not planned sooner.
Ken, please know, you will always live in our hearts and prayers.

We have lost a true child of God and will remember always the lessons of Faith passed on to us through Ken. He loved as Christ taught us all to love.
