Maxine Simontacchi Obituary

Maxine Simontacchi Was born on May 9, 1917 to Ernest and Alice Johnson. She spent her childhood in Turlock, California where she met and married the late Baptiste Joseph Simontacchi. They moved to Marin where Bap was a teacher at San Rafael High School. She was the first school secretary at TLHS followed by filling the same position at Davidson Middle School. She was always there for her two daughters, Barbara (Jones) and Karen (Leonard Medoff). Her fondest joy was her grandchildren, Todd Jones (Brett), Kent Jones (Tami), Megan Floyd (Jeff), Zack Medoff (Erin Warnick) and Dmitri Medoff (Jenn). She was blessed with many great grandchildren: Madison and Olivia Jones of Novato; Hayden, McKenna and Hudson Jones of Sisters, OR; Colton and Cassidy Floyd of Petaluma and Ben and Zoe Medoff of Longmont, Colorado. She was an avid saxophone player and enjoyed the many musical groups she played with. She also was an active member of Sweet Adelines and many other singing groups for countless years. She was a lifelong fan of the Giants, 49ers and Warriors. Sharing sporting events with family and friends was always a great source of joy. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and always was there to lend a hand or an ear to those in need. She was a very special person who will be greatly missed. She was the heart and soul of her family and left us with the foundation for loving and living each day to the fullest. Please join us to celebrate her life Monday, September 30th at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 333 Woodland Ave., San Rafael. This was her spiritual home where she worshipped with her church family. A reception will follow. Respecting her wishes, in lieu of flowers or contributions the family suggests you do a random act of kindness for a stranger. A special thank you to Hospice by the Bay.

Maxine was such a blessing in my childhood as part of the Brusatori, Simintacchi family. Her home was a place of comfort and her natural loving and easy to be around personality are what I remember most about her. She was one of my roll models. My heart goes out to her family in their loss of her in their lives. 50 some years have gone by since I saw her last yet she is very strong in my memories. Thank you Maxine, Joyce Brusatori Harris

Rest in Peace Maxine, you were loved by so many. I always enjoyed visiting with you, your smile warmed 3 every room you entered and your sweetness was always appreciated.
I did my random act of kindness today. I had some doggie meds that could be used by the next person coming in and she won't have to pay for them. Loved you so much, Wally and Barbara

A humble and gracious lady with a bright beautiful smile and always good natured. A joy to be around. I am so happy to have been with her at many family occasions. I am sure that her Lord is enjoying her presence now. May God pour out His comfort on her grieving family. Doris Lovvorn (Santa Rosa)

Maxine was a very special Lady with two wonderful daughters.
She was a friend of my Mom's and it was my great honor to
take her to Church most Sundays.

Your mother encountered early changes in her life when Bap passed away. I admired her stedfast resolve for work and her concerns as a single Mom. She was so special and certainly did her best for you and your sister.
My love, Arlene
