Resident of San Anselmo
Philip John Murphy, 78, died peacefully Dec. 6, 2017 with his wife, Anne and his two children, Matthew and Christina, at his bedside. He studied at St. Joseph and St. Patrick seminaries in San Francisco, and worked in the Bay Area non-profit community as a planned giving consultant for over 40 years. He faced his death with the same grace and honesty so many valued throughout his life. His is loved and is dearly missed.

Phil was a fine and talented professional. He shared his knowledge so generously with the fund development staff and the boards he served. I have made a donation to Catholic Charities CYO in his name in memory of his service to that organization. Paula March

I am heartbroken to learn of Phil Murphy's passing. I have been thinking of him a lot these days. He was such a gentleman and taught me so much about planned giving. He also made me laugh and keep perspective. I am so fortunate to have met him.
