R. David Anacker Passed away at his San Francisco Bay Area home, on May 23rd, 2007 following a brief and unexpected battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his children, when he died at age 71. Born in Minneapolis, MN, in 1935 to parents Don and MaryElla as the oldest of three siblings: brothers Don and Jon. Much of his fondly remembered childhood was in Elk River, MN, where he attended Elk River Grade School in the late 1940s. He was actively involved in athletics and student government in high school including football, track and field. He graduated from Washington State in 1959 with a Business and Economics BA. He was recruited by American Building Maintenance (ABM) as a management trainee directly out of school working in Portland, OR, in 1959, before working his way up to President and CEO 25 years later. Anacker was a member of The Family Club in San Francisco and Woodside, CA, where he was part of Camp 55. He always had a great interest in cars and his cars were always impeccable. His first car was a 1948 Buick and later in life he enjoyed his Ferrari and being an F1 racing enthusiast. He was an avid golfer and member of the San Francisco Golf Club (SF, CA) and Tradition Golf Club (La Quinta, CA). His favorite memory on the golf course was a hole-in-one at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Dearest Cousins,
My heart aches for each and every one of you! The pain your family has suffered over the last couple years, with the loss of so many wonderful family members, must be almost too much to bear.

Meeting Dave has been one of the highlights of my life. I will forever miss his teddybear hugs, his hearty laughter, and those beautiful sparkling eyes of his!

He will forever have my respect and admiration. So unselfish, so humble, and so loving and very very proud of his family. A man committed to living life to the fullest, and spreading cheer and love where ever he went.

I hope your many wonderful memories of him bring you some comfort during these hard times you have been facing. Please know that he will always be with you, all you have to do is look towards your hearts to feel yourself surrounded once again by his love.

I wish I didn't live so far away from all of you. I would dearly love to hug you and hold you and help you with your pain.

Please know that your Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin "Dave" was proud of each and everyone of you. Each of you made his life so much much more special for having you in it.

Your Long Lost Cousin,
SKip

I will miss David so much. It was always a surprise and a delight to get an email from him when Skip and I found a new relative on our genealogy searches. He was our biggest cheerleader and we hoped he would be able to visit Germany next spring when our homeland town of Breitungen turns 1075 years old! I hope others from the Anacker family will still be able to make the trip. I know Dave will be there in spirit. Love to the Anacker family. Jeanne Eberlein- Burmeister and Darrell Burmeister

I am so happy to have recently become aquainted with David at the Anacker reunion in Seattle. To think that we both began life in Minneapolis at nearly the same time period and only now got to know each other as family! Life does become a circle. My best wishes to all of the family. Carol

Stephanie,
I just found out about your dads passing. I am so sorry, David was truly a great man. I have many good memories of your dad and Tom at Little Louie's for breakfast or lunch and me at the Mac many nights with them. Take care and God bless. Tony

Stephanie, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a great friend to Jack and I, and even though we didn't see one another often he always took the time to meet us when we were in town. I lost Jack almost 4 years ago and I know how difficult these times can be. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers.

Dave will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family. He was a very special and charming man. Dave had a very warm charismatic manner and he had a talent for story telling. Although I didn't see him often it was always a treat when I did. I am appreciative of the memories I have particularly of Dave sharing one of his many interesting stories to an enraptured audience.

I am adding a favorite photo of Dave and his daughter Stephanie taken when I met them for breakfast during a visit to the Bay area.
