Now its 8 years later and your noticeable absence continues to break my heart. I remember you with amazing love and as one of the most genuine and giving souls I will ever know. I miss your unconditional love, I miss you calling me monkey and I miss every minute we ever shared. Our secrets kept safe until we see each other on the other side. You know how much I loved you and thats all that really matters. Love, your monkey

With my deepest sympathy to the Jovick Family. Shirley brought joy and laughter to the credit/catalog department at JCPenneys for many years. Her smile and humor were infectious.

Ms. Shirley,
Always enjoyed talking to you. You were always so kind to me. Loved your spirit and enthusiam for life and your grand love of family...
Ron wished their was more time to get to know you. (lucky that it turned out the way it did because he would have talked your ears off and you both would be laughing until it hurts).
God bless you and be happy eternally in heaven. Whenever I see anything pink especially a rose I will always remember you and smile.
With Love and Respect,
Cathy Moore

Shirley my Mother In-Law~
As I sit here typing this note to you I think where did our relationship all begin. Well it was August 1984 when I started working JcPenny. I remember the Tuesday night that we were on our break and you started talking about your three sons and you said to me you are such a sweet girl you are going to be my daughter in-law one day. I'm not sure if it was that night or another but you brought out your wallet with all three boys photos and said which one do you want to meet. Well the shy girl that I am, I know I turned red as a tomato. I looked at a co-worker of mine and said which the one should I meet, she said well I don't know Rick or Paul that well but I think Mark would be good. That Co-worker was Theresa Chase. A few months later on April 15, 1985 around 3:30 pm I was up in the break room and Lupe came up and asked if I could come and help a customer that wanted to buy his sister a blouse for her birthday. I remember looking at her and saying is it Shirley's son she said no. Well guess what, it was your son. Now here we are 25 years later. I'm not sure if you really still think I'm that shy and a sweet 19 year old. You have helped to make me the woman I am today. You have always had such great insight into life. We've had many great conversations. You have been a wonderful second mother to me and I have been truly blessed to be able to call you my friend, not just a wonderful mother in-law. You hear so many horror stories and I say yes, I have truly been blessed. If I'm lucky enough to live as long as you have today I pray I can be as pleasant as you were from day to day. You practice the Golden Rule. We should all be more like you. You raised a wonderful son who is my husband today. He's the kindest person I know and you helped make him that way. Thank you for all the nice things you've done for me over the years We've been through a lot together. Joys and sorrows and tears.Whatever comes tomorrow, whatever will be, but no one has been a better Mother-in-law than you have been to me. You have brought so much laughter and love into my life. You always say to me you are so family orientated. That credit has to go to my mom and dad that I love so very much. Along with being a great Mother in-law you have been a wonderful grandma to our girls. They love GRANDMA SHIRLEY. On March 5th when Mark and I came down to take you to the doctors I never imagined that we would be on a new journey with you.
Over the last 69 day we have had one hard journey. First, we were told you had bronchitis. Then, finding out you had small cell carcinoma. The the doctor tells us you have 2 weeks to six months to live. But you kept strong through it all. Through all of this you saw the love that so many people had for you. You were a very special lady Mrs Shirley “J”; you will always be in my heart and on my mind each and every day. I will never forget your last words to me “Mark home.” I looked into your eyes and said Shirley “I will take care of Mark; your moms boy will be taken care of.” I love you so much my dear mother in-law. You are now in heaven with all you loving family.
All my love,
Nurse Krachett (Kelly)
P.S. I promise I did not look. Now I'm not sure if Suzie looked or not. One other thing I still love you even though I had two bruised arms and a bubby twist, and you yelling Kelly you are hurting me even when I was no where around you.

Mrs. Jovick was such a wonderful person who never failed to make me laugh, especially at bingo. She was always so kind to me when I was in her home, she would make me feel soooo welcomed. I am definitely a better person for knowing her, and her family. What a wonderful mother her children had. Thank you Mrs. Jovick for your kindness and the great memories. Rest in peace.

To the Jovick family, I am very saddened to hear about Shirley or as I used to call her, Mrs. Jovick. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and could always make me laugh especially during bingo at Holy Angels Church. Every time I see a cabbage patch doll, I always think of her and the many "children" she had. Mrs. Jovick rest in peace and thanks for always bringing a smile to my face whenever I saw you.

Shirley was such a beautiful lady with a great sense of humor and a wonderful Mom to her children. I see many of her great traits in her kids....especially my dear friend Laurie! Shirley brought much love, joy and laughter to her family and friends. She will be missed dearly but her kind heart, beautiful spirit and memory will live on FOREVER! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sadness and loss. Love you all - Anne, Dave, Alexandra & Ariana Capitolo <3
