Sidney Rudy
Esteemed attorney who closed his final case on April 9th, 2005 at age 93, at home with family members by his side. It was the end of a life filled with the love and respect of family and friends, associates and clients. Married for 62 years to his "darling" Olga (deceased December 1st, 2001); Father of Alan (and Maxine) Rudy, Barbara R (and Irving) Schwartz, and Charles (and Mary) Rudy; Grandfather of John, Gail, Jake, Matthew, Jason and Nicole; Survived also by three devoted caregivers of many years.
Sidney was a native of San Francisco, graduating from Lowell High School, University of California, Berkeley and Boalt School of Law. In 1948 he moved with his family to Marin County.
Sidney was a gentle man of great intellect and unique wisdom. He lived his life fully, working tirelessly for the benefit of his clients and his community, spending the remainder of his time with his family and the pursuit of the pleasures of friendship and travel. Lake Tahoe was a destination with the family each and every summer. Many cruises connected Sidney and Olga with new and fascinating people and places.
Sidney was, throughout his life, a vigorous advocate of Jewish causes, and was a founder and second President of Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 13th, at 1:00 PM at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, 2500 - 5th Ave. San Rafael. Memorial donations may be made to Congregation Rodef Sholom, 170 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael, CA 94903 or to Hospice of Marin.
