Vernon Coleman Obituary

Vernon B. Coleman Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28th, 2007. He was preceded in death by, Mary, his loving wife of 55 years. He is survived by his five children, Vern (Trudy) Coleman, Jr. of San Rafael, Nancy (Don) Wentlandt of Alaska, Linda (Dan) Magnani of Concord, Theresa (Pat) Dewees of Rohnert Park and Cathy (Esi) Bostani of Petaluma, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was born and raised in Belvedere and Sausalito. Vernon attended Tamalpais High School where he played baseball and excelled as pitcher, including a perfect game against College of Marin. He served in WWII as a Seabee in Guadalcanal. After the war, he served as a fireman at Hamilton Field. He also worked as a milkman and for the city of Tiburon. Other than his family, his two great passions were baseball and the sea. He enjoyed meeting his friends every day at the coffee shop. A Memorial Mass will be offered in his memory on Friday, January 4th, 2008 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 8400 Old Redwood Hwy., Windsor at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice may be made. Arrangements under the care of Santa Rosa Mortuary Eggen & Lance Chapel, 707-545-3747.
