I'm so very sorry for your loss. Winn and I shared many wonderful memory filled years of living next door to each other on Woodbine in Terra Linda. At the time, we both were enjoying early motherhood and spent many hours laughing, crying and strolling with our girls to the market
Loved hearing all her stories of her earlier days on KQED and the many famous people she interviewed. Winn was a wonderful woman who touched many of us.
Dementia has stollen way too many intelligent lives.
May God keep you safe in his arms

I loved her so. She was my forever friend- I am so sorry dementia touched your lives girls. Spent the day reading and re-reading all of Ethels News Pointer articles. So intelligent, witty and sweet. She gave me a lifetime of joy and friendship. I am so sorry I only visited her once but I could not do it more it wasnt about time it was just too painful. I will miss her dearly as I have during these last years I have not nor will I ever, ever have a best friend again. You had a wonderful mom who I loved dearly and shared everything with. Think of her smiling and being witty. Oh Ethel Im so sad. Love always Thunder Thighs. Mona as in Gamas. Lucy. Your crazy Italian who liked icky spices. That lady with the too thick lips. Or who can forget. Excuse me sir I have the croup I need to stay another night,,,,,,,, May we meet in our second lifetime on that beautiful train car to Reno in the snow, or on one of our cruises or better yet just sitting on the couch saying to each other wow two hours have passed neither of us has shut up. I guess thats what real friends do. I truly have been missing you Ethel. May you sleep peacefully for eternity. Love BertaRoberta Robinson, Novato, CA

I enjoyed her columns in the Ross Valley Reporter. Very witty and charming, like a diary.
